PRE-VETERINARY
MEDICINE
Roberts Wesleyan College offers a variety of pre-professional programs including pre-veterinary medicine. The pre-veterinary medicine program prepares one to apply for entry into a veterinary school. Each student will choose a major at Roberts which can be any of the majors that are offered here. Students often choose a science major since a number of science courses are required in the pre-vet program. These courses include a year of general chemistry, a year of organic chemistry, a year of physics, a year of general biology and often times a semester of calculus. A student should choose a major based on what one would want to do if he or she did not gain admission to veterinary school. The program requires hard work and the observation of veterinary professionals in preparation for applying to the professional schools. Many veterinary schools required a prescribed number of hours observing and working with animals that students must complete outside of classes. Dr. David Roll serves as the pre-professional health advisor and the college is a member of the National Association of Advisors for the Health Professions.
