Each September Osaka Christian College (OCC) faculty bring a group of 10 - 16 OCC students to Roberts Wesleyan College for a chance to experience life on an American college campus and get a taste of various attributes of our community. Students visit local schools, museums and businesses, as well as take a trip to Niagara Falls. While on campus, they stay with Roberts students who volunteer to host them in their residence hall room. "Konnichiwa Week" offers opportunities to try Japanese calligraphy, origami, Japanese traditional dance as well as trying on a kimono. The highlight of this activities-packed week is the "Junk Food Taste Test" where Roberts students get to taste Japanese junk food and the OCC students get to taste American junk food.
Each May Roberts leads a study tour to Osaka where Roberts students experience tutoring the OCC students in English through their annual English Camp and by simply hanging out with each other on the various outings. Outings include a day in Kyoto visiting World Heritage sites, riding the bullet train to Hiroshima and visiting the Hiroshima Peach Museum, shopping, visiting local schools, and staying for a weekend with an OCC student's family.
