In order to maintain effective oversight of
the College's owned and operated vehicles, regular review of Motor
Vehicle Records (MVR) will be completed for all operators of
College owned, rented, or leased vehicles. RWC's Driver Review
Board will review questionable Motor Vehicle Records.
Driving privileges will be suspended when
Department of Motor Vehicle (DMV) driving history reflects the
following violations or any time at the request of the RWC's Driver
Review Board. Receipt of citation for any one of the
following driving violations during the past three years is
required:
A. Driving under the influence of
alcohol or drugs
B. Leaving the scene of an
accident
C. Careless or reckless
driving
D. Fleeing a law enforcement
officer
E. Homicide or assault through use
of a motor vehicle
F. Drivers who currently have a
suspended or revoked license
G. Speeding (more than 20 MPH over
limit)
Driving privileges may be suspended when DMV
driving history reflects the following violations or any time at
the request of the RWC's Driver Review Board:
Two of the following occurrences during the
past three years:
A. Speeding (less than 20 MPH over
limit)
B. Speed greater than reasonable or
prudent or too fast for conditions
C. Failure to yield
D. Failure to obey traffic sign or
signal
E. Improper backing, turning, or
passing
F. Following too closely
G. Careless operation of
vehicles
H. Any other moving violation
I. Accident
Three of the following occurrences during
the past three years:
A. Defective equipment
B. Oversize or overweight load
C. Operating without required equipment or
warnings
D. Other equipment violations (includes
seatbelt violations)
Drivers citied for operating a vehicle while
using a cell phone either for talking or texting will incur a
one-month suspension of driving privileges. Drivers cited twice in
a twelve-month period will have driving privileges suspended for
one year.
